Over a century of success: Kenilworth law firm on putting clients first

"Traditional values with a modern outlook" is the secret to success of a local law firm which has been supporting the people of Coventry and Warwickshire for over 120 years.
First launched in Coventry over a century ago, Mander Hadley is one of the "most well-established" firms of solicitors in the local area, providing a huge breadth of legal services.
With an office on Warwick Road, the firm has a strong presence in Kenilworth, and with the launch of a new office space in Warwick this year, Mander Hadley is eager to expand even further in South Warwickshire.
And while the company wants to grow, its focus will remain on putting clients first.
"Our ethos is very much to be a client interfacing law firm," Stuart Daniel, Director – Head of the Family Department, told Nub News.
"We don't want to be a law firm operating purely by remote means with lawyers that you never get to meet face-to-face.
"We want to be with our clients in person, so you can shake our hand and look us in the eye.
"Traditional values with a modern outlook is what we are all about.
"We want to expand but remain the Coventry and Warwickshire firm that puts clients first."

With a team of around 50 staff, Mander Hadley also prides itself on offering a full range of legal services to its clients.
As well as providing advice in commercial property and commercial matters, the firm has a complete range of services for individuals and families.
This includes conveyancing, property disputes, work and employment matters, dispute resolution, general civil litigation, as well as Wills, powers of attorney, probate, pre-nuptial agreements, divorce, financial settlements, and children matters.
"We're very much about providing clients with legal support for all of their affairs" Stuart continued.
"It's exactly what we want to be - your trusted local lawyer for all your needs."

As well as its full range of services and team of dedicated professionals, Mander Hadley also prides itself on its communication, and ensuring all clients are kept fully informed in plain language, not legalese.
"Being a good solicitor means you need great personal skills and are able to talk to all sorts of people," Stuart explained.
"The work we help people with often requires a sensitive and very human approach. Clients who come to us may have suffered a bereavement, are going through relationship breakdown, or find themselves involved in a dispute at work or at home. They need legal help but it needs to provided in a supportive and delicate manner. For clients who are involved in a residential or commercial property transaction, an efficient and fast paced service is key, with good use of technology and good communication at all times.
"Some of our clients come to us facing emotionally difficult issues, such as family law matters, which require us to have that good personal approach. We need to instill confidence, and to relax people.
"We genuinely care and want to help. So I think that's what sets us apart from other firms.
"I think it's taken for granted that you know your area of work and that you've got the requisite qualifications and experience. What sets us aside, I think, is the personal touch and being able to relate to a client as well as having that legal knowledge to back up the advice they need."

And for Stuart - who actually started his career at Mander Hadley doing work experience during his university studies over 20 years ago before re-joining the firm more recently - he said his love for his work is all about building relationships with clients.
"I think it's the satisfaction of meeting clients face to face and helping them through their journey," he said.
"When I was starting out, I had exposure to different areas of law, but what I like about family law is it's very much face-to-face. You build a relationship with the clients.
"Often it's a sort of matter that takes several months to resolve, if not longer, and you do get to know the clients very, very well over that period of time.
"Particularly in my line of work, the clients come to us generally quite flat, and they can be in a bad way.
"And then you see them move up that arc as things go along, and by the end of it, they're a lot happier, and that's very rewarding to see that change, and to help them achieve it."
