Warwickshire gym chain helps major fundraising drive for defibrillator charity
By James Smith 13th Mar 2026
This past weekend, Fitness Worx Gym was "proud to host a fantastic charity event" in support of the Our Jay Foundation.
It was an "incredible day" filled with "energy, competition, and community spirit" - all coming together to raise money for a very important cause.
The Our Jay Foundation fundraises for public access defibrillators in memory of Jamie Rees who passed away on New Year's Day 2022 aged 18 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
A Day of Fitness and Community
The event featured a HYROX competition, giving athletes the opportunity to test their endurance, strength, and determination throughout the day.
Members and visitors pushed themselves through a series of tough but rewarding workouts, creating an electric atmosphere in the gym.
Alongside the HYROX challenge, Fitness Worx also ran a deadlift competition, which brought out some "impressive strength performances" from competitors.
After some "incredible" lifts, the winners of the deadlift competition were Declan Challoner and Sophie Henry
Both athletes showed "outstanding strength and effort", earning "well-deserved" victories.
Support from the Fitness Community
The event also welcomed a GASP meet-up, bringing together athletes from the community to train, compete, and support the charity event.
"It was great to see so many passionate fitness enthusiasts coming together under one roof," the Fitness Worx team said.
Representatives from Better Bodies were also present, helping support the day and connect with members of the fitness community.
To add even more excitement to the competition, GASP generously donated a £250 gift card to the winners, making the day even more rewarding for those who took part.

Supporting Members Across Warwickshire
Fitness Worx Gym group now has nine locations across Warwickshire, helping members achieve life-changing results through structured training and expert coaching.
Every member and also non-members were welcomed along to take part in the day.
"It really was a fantastic turn out," the team added.
Raising Money for a Great Cause
Away from the competition floor, there were plenty of ways for people to contribute to the charity effort.
Fitness Worx hosted a bake sale and raffle, both of which were hugely popular throughout the day.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the event raised over £600 for The Our Jay Foundation, which will go toward supporting the "amazing" work they do.
Beth, the Gym Manager at Fitness Worx, shared her thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a success.

"A huge thank you to everyone who came down to support the Our Jay charity event," she said.
"The turnout, the atmosphere, and the generosity shown by our members and local community were incredible.
"Events like this show what the Fitness Worx community is all about — people coming together to support each other and raise money for a fantastic cause."
From the athletes who competed, to the people who baked, donated raffle prizes, or simply came along to support — Fitness Worx has said a big "thank you".
"Events like this highlight the strength of the Fitness Worx community and how fitness can bring people together for something bigger than just training," the team said.
