Kenilworth Rugby Football Club (KRFC) is "still on plan" to start work on its move across town next year.

That was the message from club chairman Paul Fountaine in a recent video to supporters, in which he also thanked locals for donating generously to the club's urgent funding campaign.

At the end of the video, Mr Fountaine told locals there are three exciting updates from KRFC, including an update on the move to Warwick Road.

"With our joint working with Bloor, our development partner, we are still on plan to be breaking ground in the new year and laying pitches in the spring," he said.

"This is fantastic news for everyone who has been involved in the ground move."

The club announced earlier this year that Bloor Homes - which will develop the current ground into houses - will forward fund much of the works needed to allow KRFC to relocate.

The new site on the other side of town already has planning permission.

Mr Fountaine also told supporters there would be events throughout 2024 to celebrate KRFC's centenary.

And he also praised the work of the new Community Group partnership which he says will help make  rugby "more accessible" to people from all walks of life.
