Following a three year hiatus, the Two Castles Run will return to Kenilworth on Sunday, June 12.

The event, which is organised by the Rotary Club of Kenilworth and Leamington Cycling and Athletic Club, will see competitors complete the 10km distance between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle.

The route will take the runners from the centre of Warwick, through Leek Wootton and onto Kenilworth where they will finish in the grounds of the castle.

Next weekend will be the 38th year of the race with entrants raising money for causes of their own choice, although organisers have encouraged people to support the rotary End Polio Now campaign.

Runners will leave Warwick Castle at 9am and head through Warwick along Coventry Road towards Leek Wootton via Hill Wootton Road.

They will then turn right onto Warwick Road, then left at The Anchor Inn along Woodcote Lane.

Then they will join Rouncil Lane, then Rounds Hill before heading along John O'Gaunt Road, Fishponds Road, Castle Road and left into Brays Car Park.

Road closures will be in force along the route entire from 8.30am and then reopened gradually as the runners clear the course.

The roads are expected to be fully reopened by 11.30am.

And runners will be cut off if they have not reached the Anchor by 10.20am, Rounds Hill by 10.45am or Kenilworth Castle by 11.15am.

Marshals will be placed along the course with water stations on Hill Wootton Road and Rounds Hill.

Leamington-based solicitors Blythe Liggin will return as the main sponsor for the 15th year and will be entering a team of some 30 runners.

As many as 4,150 runners will complete the race.
