Restoration business secures next chapter as empty 'hydroponics' unit and café to be repurposed

A local restoration business has secured its next chapter after planning permission was granted to repurpose an empty hydroponics unit and café.
Warwick District Council has signed off on plans to change the use of the storage building at Brook Farm to create a garage for the restoration of classic cars.
GTS Motorsport Limited has seen its planning application for the Stoneleigh Road site approved meaning it can relocate from its existing site at Earlswood.
The building has sat empty for over a decade having been built to replace another destroyed in a fire.
Approving the plans, a council report said: "Subject to conditions the development is not considered to give rise to harm to the character of the area, highways matters, flooding, residential amenity, ecology and biodiversity and climate change and mitigation.
"It is therefore recommended that planning permission be granted on this basis."
Plans show the building will have two car ramps built, still allowing space for two more cars to be worked on without a ramp.
There will also be storage space and a reception area.
"My desire for GTS is to grow the company to a maximum of five employees and to be one of the leading restoration businesses in the United Kingdom," the application said.
"As mentioned in the planning statement, GTS motorsport carries out no major fabrication, machining or painting processes, all of this is conducted by a robust local supply chain.
"Most of the work conducted at Brook Farm, entails the use of hand tools to dismantle and reassemble components on the motor vehicle and re-attach them.
"Therefore, there will be no impact due to noise.
"Other than the employees, then the facility would be rarely visited by customers. We do not operate or rely on any passing trade."
