Kenilworth firefighters were called to a blaze in an empty flat thought to have been caused by an electrical fault last night (April 18).
Crews from Kenilworth and Leamington attended the scene on Clarendon Square at 11.46pm where the ground floor and stairwell were full of smoke.
Residents evacuated the building and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered and located the fire.
"Two Firefighters from Kenilworth wearing breathing apparatus also entered the building to assist the Leamington crew with ventilation and to cut away to locate any hot spots," a Kenilworth Fire Station statement said.
"Nobody was injured at the incident. The fire alarms sounded in the building alerting the residents there was a fire.
"The cause of the fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical appliance."
It was a busy night for Warwickshire Fire and Rescue with incidents also reported elsewhere in Leamington, Nuneaton, Ryton and North Warwickshire.
"During this busy period our amazing fire control staff worked to move fire engines around the county to maintain effective fire cover to the areas where the incidents were ongoing, so that we can respond to those in need as quickly as we can," the statement added.
