Residents assured construction is not starting as survey work confirmed for former Kenilworth School site

"Additional survey work" will take place at Kenilworth's former school site on Leyes Lane this week, residents have been told.
Warwick District Council has issued the update as it assures residents no building work is beginning.
An outline planning application from Homes England to flatten the school site to make way for 224 homes has been submitted - but not yet approved - as Homes England considers buying the land from WDC.
Upcoming work will involve "gathering technical information about site conditions".
"Over the coming weeks this limited survey activity will include the use of a small excavator to carry out ground investigations," a council update said.
"This work will be temporary, controlled and is expected to last for a few weeks.
"No building works, site clearance, or construction activity are authorised or taking place at this time.
"Any future development of the site is subject to the outcome of the planning process."
The site is still owned by the district council and it is yet to confirm the possible sale of the plot to Homes England.
The council has already set out potential next steps for the project and is also imposing strict standards on what sort of houses are to be built there.
