A 46-year-old woman from Princethorpe has been charged with attempted murder after police were called to a report of a woman being assaulted at a village pub.

Luisa Santos, of High Town, was arrested after Warwickshire Police were called to the High Town venue on Saturday afternoon (May 21).

She was also charged with possessing a knife in a public place.

She has been remanded in custody and will appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court today (May 23)

A force spokesperson said: "A woman from Princethorpe has been charged with attempted murder following an incident at the weekend.

"Luisa Santos, of High Town, was also charged with possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

"The 46-year-old has been remanded to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court today (Monday).

"Santos was arrested by officers after a report of a woman being assaulted at a licensed premises in High Town on Saturday afternoon (21 May)."
