Primary school pupils learn about eye health during Specsavers visit
Primary school pupils learned all about their eye health when two staff members from a Kenilworth opticians visited as part of National Eye Education Week.
Clinical assistant, Joshua Matthew-Gibbins and lab technician, Glen Kimberley from Specsavers Kenilworth talked to three Year Five classes at Balsall Common Primary School about the importance of looking after their eyes.
"The children were learning about eyes as part of their studies and we were invited to come in to talk to them about eye health and the importance of getting your eyes tested regularly," says Joshua.
"Afterwards we set up dummy frame fittings to give the pupils a positive view of wearing glasses if necessary.
"The children asked us lots of really good questions all about eyes and testing. We found our time with them rewarding and enjoyable."
Joshua and Glen handed out goody bags to the pupils afterwards, which included invitations for them to come and get their eyes tested at Specsavers Kenilworth at The Square.
Store director Ambreena Bhatti added: "If you'd like our team members to visit your school for a talk, then please get in touch to organise.
"We are always keen to get involved with our local community by taking our expertise as opticians into schools."
