The annual scarecrow festival is set to return to Kenilworth's allotments this weekend.

From 1pm to 4pm on Sunday 16 August, locals will have the chance to see the creations on display at the popular community event returns.

Town clerk Maggie Field has already completed the judging in the annual competition, assessing each on merit across three categories: traditional, novelty and topical.

There was also a children-only category where they could create a scarecrow of whatever theme they preferred.

The open day on Sunday will also feature a competition for youngsters to try to spot and find all the scarecrows.

For adults, there will be a Pimm's tent and tea tent as well as freshly baked cakes on offer.

An old-fashioned ice cream cart will also be serving cold refreshments.

In addition to all these refreshments will be displays on Recycling, Beekeeping and Local handicrafts.

Mayor of Kenilworth, Cllr Alison Insley, will also be in attendance, with the event raising money for her chosen charities - Warwickshire Hearts and Warwickshire Search and Rescue.
