Police will 'continue to patrol schools' to stop parents parking 'inconsiderately'

Local police say they will continue to patrol and monitor around local primary schools to make sure parents are not parking anti-socially when the drop off and collect their children.

Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police took to social media today (November 5) said this was important to "ensure the safety of children on their way to school".

The statement followed monitoring at Radford Semele C of E Primary School this morning "after complaints from local residents that parents dropping their children off were parking inconsiderately and obstructing the footpaths".

"We spoke with parents and children on their way to school and advised several motorists about their manner of parking," the force said.

"We will continue to patrol schools in the area at pick up and drop off to ensure the safety of children on their way to school."

The force's comments come just days after members at Kenilworth Town Council said they are expecting an update from their county colleagues before Christmas about parking around the new Kenilworth School.

Neighbours on the smaller residential roads around Glasshouse Lane have complained about inconsiderate parking in the area at pick up and drop off times.
