Mercedes drivers are asked to not be offended as police prepare to pull over vehicles following a spate of thefts across the county.

Following a series of thefts of Mercedes Benz cars across Warwickshire - including two in Kenilworth - local officers are being asked to pull over vehicles they are suspicious about.

"Consequently Warwickshire Police have tasked their officers to pulling over any Mercedes Benz vehicles they maybe they're suspicious about," a Kenilworth Watch spokesperson said.

"So if you are a driver of a Mercedes Benz vehicle please don't be offended if you are asked to stop, police officers will simply want to check everything is in order.

"The recent vehicle thefts are being investigated.

"In the meantime, if you own a Mercedes Benz motor vehicle please take extra precautions to protect your vehicle."
