Plans to create residential children’s care home in Kenilworth approved

Plans to create a full-time residential children's care home in Kenilworth have been given the green light by Warwick District Council (WDC).
Action for Children was given permission to alter the existing use of a facility on Rouncil Lane which had previously only been used for respite care.
Plans were signed off earlier this summer with council planners writing: "The proposed scheme is considered to have an acceptable impact on neighbouring amenity levels and is therefore recommended for approval "occupied as a full-time residential children's care home" which will allow "for longer term residents in the property".
Currently with four bedrooms for children as well as a staff room, the property will have no external changes.
"Action for Children see the future potential of the building being used as a residential home for children with disabilities," the application explained.
"The alteration…would allow for the provision of long term residents at the property."
Action for Children says it will employ a mixture of full time and part time staff to run the facility.
