Kenilworth's Halifax branch will close this October, the bank has confirmed.

Lloyds Banking Group announced in June that 15 of its Halifax banks would close this Autumn.

It has now being confirmed that the Kenilworth branch will officially close its doors on October 19 2021.

Halifax said that the "difficult" decision to close the branch at The Square has been made because "customers are using it less often" and "the majority of customers are also using alternative ways to bank."

According to Halifax's figures almost half of Kenilworth customers already use other branches, and up to 71 per cent have used other branches, online or telephone banking.

Transactions in the branch are also down 40 per cent compared to 2016.

Kenilworth's closest Halifax branches will now be on The Parade in Leamington Spa and on High Street in Coventry city centre.

The confirmation of Halifax's closure date comes as Nationwide announced that the Kenilworth branch will only be open two days per week from the end of November.
