The latest update on the £38 million A46 Stoneleigh Island works has been released by Warwickshire County Council.

Having started in December 2020, the works will continue until at least summer 2022 and will see a new roundabout, and bridge built at the site.

Through September and October the new road layout has really started to take shape with big strides taken in the construction of Westley Bridge.

Thirty piles (large reinforced concrete posts) have been installed as the foundation for the new bridge.

Vodaphone has finished moving its cables around the new southbound off-slip.

Kerbing on the new slip roads has also begun with 80m already built on Stoneleigh Road East.

This month earthworks are set to continue around Dalehouse roundabout.

The new slip roads are also set to have tarmac laid on them this November. Once tarmac has been laid, traffic will begin to use the new slip roads to allow the workforce to start installing the new bridges.
