Nursery children test out refurbished Kenilworth play area

Drier and warmer weather finally offered an opportunity for local pre-school children and project partners to visit the newly recreated Castle Farm play area in Kenilworth.
Led and funded by Warwick District Council and designed with feedback from Evergreen School, the playground reopened on 6 March following the installation of a range of new equipment, enhanced safety surfaces, accessibility improvements and sensory displays.
Following delays caused by the wet weather, the celebratory gathering was a chance for children from neighbouring nurseries to test out the new facilities, which include an interactive animal sound board, village shop as well as a 'Tough Trail' obstacle course, zip line, accessible swings, slides and trampolines.
The children were joined by representatives from both the district and town councils as well as playground designers eibe play Ltd.
Chloie Harden, Nursery Manager of Field House Day Nursery (Tommies Childcare) in Kenilworth commented: "Our children were so excited to try the new play area, and it was wonderful to watch them explore, play, and discover together.
"What really stands out is how inclusive the space feels. Features that support different needs and abilities help more children join in, build confidence, and enjoy shared experiences.
"It is fantastic to see this kind of investment in a community space for Kenilworth families."
