A nine-month closure of a Balsall Common road for HS2 works has begun.

Lavender Hall Lane shut on Wednesday 11 February after a delay to the works.

The road was due to shut on Monday 9 February but was delayed until Waste Lane reopened as weather conditions delayed works there.

Lavender Hall Lane will remain closed until Monday 30 November.

HS2 said: "We are undertaking works to complete the new Lavender Hall Lane Overbridge and road realignment.

"Works include the relocation of utilities, earthworks, drainage works, kerbing and highway surfacing works.

"We will also install a new box culvert to divert a local watercourse and install a crash barrier."

Access for residents and businesses will be maintained.
