HS2 has issued its spring update for all the upcoming works around Kenilworth.

Over the past few months HS2 has continued with works around Coventry Road, Balsall Common, Crackley Lane and currently has Cromwell Lane and Dalehouse Lane closed.

And now the high speed rail developer has released its spring 2026 'construction look ahead' for Warwickshire. This is the first of these updates it has issued since last summer.

Upcoming work includes:

  • Building the Burton Green tunnel and permanent Cromwell Lane realignment. Road will reopen in August in permanent state
  • Installation of the new Cromwell Lane embankment
  • Constructing Broadwell Woods Embankment and Cutting. A total of 50,000m3 of earth material is required for the construction of bunds around here.
  • Installation of W168 underpass structure and new W168 footpath
  • Completing the new Crackley Lane Overbridge and road realignment
  • The completion of Canley Brook watercourse realignment
  • Moving soil from Glasshouse Wood Cutting to Kenilworth Cutting
  • Construction of Dalehouse Overbridge with a 14-month closure planned from 7 April 2026
  • Complete structural works on River Avon Viaduct
