HS2 has issued its winter update for all the upcoming works around Kenilworth.

Over the past few months HS2 has submitted numerous planning applications for local works, and announced several upcoming road closures.

And now the high speed rail developer has released its spring 2025 'construction look ahead' for Warwickshire.

Upcoming work includes:

  • Installing tunnel roof slabs at Burton Green tunnel
  • Continuing to excavate the tunnel and building the embankment
  • Constructing Broadwell Woods Embankment and Cutting
  • Installation of W168 Underpass Structure and New W168 Footpath.
  • New alignment and overbridge of Crackley Lane
  • Building Crackley Wood Embankment
  • Crackley Brook Viaduct expected to be complete summer 2025
  • Moving soil from Glasshouse Wood Cutting to Kenilworth Cutting
  • Multiple utility works in advance of the construction of the new Dalehouse Lane Overbridge
  • Closure of A46 to move new bridge into place

HS2 also said there will be the "removal of the minimum number of trees and vegetation needed to safely build the railway and prepare sites for construction".
