The owners of a new Thai restaurant and takeaway said they are "very excited" to welcome guests of the first time this weekend.

Nur Nur Paradise on Warwick Road will open its doors at lunchtime on Friday (November 10), with locals able to sample the new Thai fusion food on offer.

Run by Lee Wongsalees and Chamtama Nimceam - who were both born in Thailand - the new eatery was previously another Thai restaurant (Thai Sarocha) but has been completed renovated over the past few months.

As well as a new bar and signs, the venue has had a complete makeover inside to add a more contemporary feel.

"We have made a new bar, made more seating space, and added in new decoration," Chamtama told Nub News.

"We want people to relax where they are sitting down - in a comfy space.

"We want to do a modern look.

"It was more old fashioned before, but we want people to feel like they are at home and feel relaxed."

The duo, who met working at Thai food chain Giggling Squid, are putting their years of hospitality experience into practice with the Nur Nur Paradise, which they say will be unlike any other Thai restaurant.

The menu will be offering a wide variety of freshly-prepared food, from traditional Thai dishes, to Western food given a South East Asian twist.

In particular Lee said he was proud of the chili basil lamb cutlets with soy sauce and Thai seasoning.

"We have a picture of Thai food, but we want to add in more combinations with Western dishes," Lee added.

"We will be doing different food, more fusion.

"We will still do the traditional Thai food, but also English food with a Thai taste.

"We will have more options, lots of fusion."

The new name 'Nur Nur' also promises a lot from the new eatery - roughly translating from Thai as 'delicious'.

The business will open fully for the first time this weekend for both diners in the restaurant and for takeaway.

The owners are also hoping to host a number of invite-only meals over the coming weeks, with local business owners set to be welcomed down.

But most of all, the new owners are looking forward to getting to know more local people.

"We are really excited for people in Kenilworth to come for the first time," Chamtama added.

"When I moved here and started the business we saw how nice the people are, how friendly, so we are super excited to welcome them and serve them and make them happy with our food.

"We have been waiting a long time to open our first business and our looking forward to the opening day when we can start cooking our food.
