Nearly 100 sheep have been stolen from Rouncil Lane, Kenilworth Watch has revealed.

Warwickshire Police is appealing for people to come forward who may have witnessed sheep being herded and loaded into a vehicle in the general area of Farm Road and Rouncil Lane area of Kenilworth.

"This may include activity that walkers or riders may have seen taking place on or from the Bridleway that runs to Rouncil Lane from Castle Farm," a Kenilworth Watch statement said.

Some 69 lambs and 19 ewes were stolen sometime between the Monday 12 August and Thursday 22 August 2024.

As a result of the overall size of the flock the theft has only become apparent when the farmer attempted to pen the sheep up on Friday 23 August 2024.

"If you think you may have seen anything in the fields, along the bridleway or farm trailers parked in or close to Farm Road or along Rouncil Lane, or have any information then please contact Warwickshire Police on 101," the statement added.
