Waste Lane on the edge of Balsall Common will close for another month this spring for HS2 works.

The road - which will eventually be realigned to allow the new line to pass under - will shut from 6am on Monday 17 March until 5pm on Saturday 12 April.

The closure will be in place for 24 hours a day.

An HS2 statement said: "To enable the new railway to pass under Waste Lane, the road will have to be realigned over a new bridge before the existing bridge is demolished.

"To divert the road, we also need to divert existing utilities which are in the verge of the existing road.

"During this closure we will be carrying out substantial works with the utilities in preparation for this.

"Access for residents will be managed by our traffic management team. For that reason, it will not be possible to allow pedestrians and cyclists through the closure."
