Man arrested on suspicion of murder after death following incident at village pub

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man following an incident at a village pub.

Officers were called to the Blue Boar Inn in Temple Grafton at around 7.10pm on Thursday evening (24 November) to attend a report of assault.

William 'Billy' Carney. was taken to Warwick Hospital with head injuries, where the 31-year-old died on Saturday afternoon.

Warwickshire Police has now announced that a 29-year-old from Gloucestershire was arrested this morning (29 November) on suspicion of murder.

He is currently in police custody.

Investigations are ongoing and officers continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have any information to please make contact.

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 300 of 24 November 2022. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
