Man arrested for drink driving after crashing into Kenilworth war memorial

A man was arrested after crashing into Kenilworth's war memorial last month.

Police were called to the scene at 5.05am on 20 April to reports of a collision on Abbey Hill.

The man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The incident on Abbey Hill has caused significant damage to the fence surrounding the memorial and a small amount of structural damage to the memorial itself.

The incident was also reported to Warwick District Council, and the wreathes were moved from the memorial following the incident.
