By James Smith 9th Jul 2026
All lanes have now reopened on the M42 northbound following a crash earlier this morning (July 9).
The motorway was shut between J3A (M40) and J4 (Solihull) due to a collision, resulting in a "substantial fuel spillage across the road".
Traffic officers have been at the scene assisting with traffic management and cleaning the road.
National Highways has now confirmed the M42 has reopened.
"All lanes have reopened on the M42 in Warwickshire northbound between J3A Hockley Heath and J4 Dorridge following an earlier collision which resulted in a major spillage," a statement said.
"There are delays in excess of 10 minutes on the approach."
