Lime Bikes plan for Kenilworth moving forward
By James Smith 25th Oct 2026
Town councillors are pushing ahead with plans to bring Lime Bikes to Kenilworth.
Earlier this year, Kenilworth Town Council voted unanimously in favour of the scheme and has since written to Warwick District Council to share its support.
Lime Bikes - electric bikes available to the public to rent - are already in place in nearby Solihull as well as at the University of Warwick.
Speaking at this week's meeting, Cllr Mark Stevens said the council is looking to press forward with bringing them to the town.
"We are hoping that we are going to have a meeting very shortly [...] then we will get together with Lime Bikes and the university to see how we can actually take this forward," he said.
The town council is currently hoping for just the bikes, and not the scooters to be brought to Kenilworth.
Nub News understands there are already around 700 Lime Bike account holders in Kenilworth.
The Kenilworth Youth Council has also indicated its support for the idea.
Cllr Alan Chalmers added at this week's meeting: "The Lime Bikes at the university are going completely berserk.
"There is a massive use of them across the campus, they are all over the place."
