Over 50,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have now been administered at the local vaccination clinic according to Castle Medical Centre.

Vaccinations at the local testing site for Kenilworth and Warwick Primary Care Network began on December 14 2020, with the 50,000th vaccine being administered over the bank holiday weekend.

The PCN covers Abbey, Castle, Avonside, Priory and Chase Meadow medical centres.

The Kenilworth and Warwick PCN local vaccine site had been based at the Warwickshire Golf and Country Club. However, it had been moved to the Ramada Hotel in the middle of April.

A statement from Castle Medical Centre said: "This week our local vaccination clinic achieved 50,000 Covid vaccines being administered.

"This is a fantastic achievement and a huge thank you goes to everyone that has supported the effort to date from the vaccinators, admin team through to our amazing volunteer team.

"We have now called all patients aged 30 and above and will be calling patients in their 20's very soon.

"Thank you to all of our patients too, we have really appreciated all the kind words and support received, especially through the busy vaccination programme."
