Children are set to feel like "kings and queens" if they visit Kenilworth Castle this half term.

Dedicated history-themed activities will be on offer at the town's main tourist attraction, as well as at Goodrich Castle in Herefordshire and Witley Court & Gardens in Worcestershire.

'Kids Rule!' events will be taking place all week between Saturday 25 May and Sunday 2 June.

The Elizabethan period will be the inspiration for activities at Kenilworth Castle, harking back to when a lavish new palace was added to the site in celebration of the visit of Queen Elizabeth I.

Ella Harrison, Events Manager at English Heritage, said: "Whether you're in Herefordshire, Warwickshire or Worcestershire, you'll be spoiled for a fantastic day out at our historic properties.

"Our Kids Rule! activities aim to bring our castles and stately homes to life for youngsters on their school holiday break.

"We can't wait to welcome families to our sites to join in the fun soon."
