Kenilworth's infamous Custard Corner is due to be repainted yellow later this year, a Kenilworth councillor has confirmed.

The closed section of Station Road hit national headlines in early 2025 after it was painted yellow by Warwickshire County Council.

The paint has since started to fade, and despite being jetwashed earlier this summer, is in need of a touch up.

No date for the works has been confirmed yet, as the council looks for the matching paint.

Speaking at the most recent Kenilworth Town Council meeting, Cllr Richard Dickson said: "Custard Corner has had a jet wash over the summer, so it is slightly more yellow than it was before.

"But they [county council] cannot find the right shade of paint to repaint it.

"But I have agreed out of my delegated budget, it will get repainted yellow again.

"Love it or loathe it, we should look after it."

The closure of Station Road was controversial, with locals split on whether it should have remained shut after the pandemic.

The decision to then paint it yellow was also met with mixed reaction, with some describing it as "vile," "nauseating," and "overpowering".

Nub News later revealed the cost of painting it and planting the trees was £53,020.
