The Tipperary Inn in Meer End near Kenilworth is currently up for sale.

The Meer End Road pub was supposedly where former resident Harry Williams co-wrote the song 'It's a long way to Tipperary' with Jack Judge in 1912.

Built in the late 1800s, the pub used to be called the Plough Inn and is currently being sold by Solihull-based agents Veritas Business Sales Ltd.

It is currently on the market for leasehold sale for £224,950 plus SAV.

This is not the first time that the free from tie pub has been on the market in recent years, the current owners having only taken over three years ago.

Since taking over they have extensively renovated and redecorated the property.

Veritas has said: "Reluctantly they are now offering it for sale due to other pressing business commitments."

With a weekly turnover of around £10,000 the pub makes around two thirds of its sales through food.

There are also four guest bedrooms which bring in a further £50,000 - £70,000 yearly.
