This March, Kenilworth will be among ten areas of Coventry and Warwickshire to light up front windows and gardens as part of Coventry City of Culture Trust's 'Window Wanderland' event.

Organised in conjunction with the Kenilworth Centre, the Window Wanderland will be coming to Kenilworth every day between Saturday, March 13 and Friday 19, 5.00pm to 9.00pm.

Residents are being encouraged to sign up online and decorate their windows and front gardens in preparation. An online map will be made available to help plan a trail around the town.

A number of households and businesses have already registered, but there is still plenty of time to get involved.

Sign up is free, and there are also some online Zoom classes available for arts and crafts inspiration ahead of the week.

The Window Wanderland initiative first started in Bristol five years ago and has steadily grown across the UK; once adopted the event has frequently become an annual event in towns that take it on.

Centre manager at the Kenilworth Centre Holly Hewitt said: "Its such a beautiful way to connect as a community and bring some fun and light to the evenings.

"People can take inspiration from wherever they like and create art, tableaux, signs, sculptures or simply decorate their windows in anyway that's suitable for all ages to enjoy. We plan to make this an annual event that grows and develops over the years."

The trust has said "Window Wanderland can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities, so everyone on your street can get involved.

"We're already working with amazing people across the city who are determined to get their local communities involved.

"The important thing is to enjoy taking part, so feel free to do your own thing and express your own ideas!"
