A chain pub in the centre of Kenilworth has officially shut its doors.

The Bear & Ragged Staff on Warwick Road has closed, with landlord Greene King yet to confirm a reason for the move.

A company statement simply said: "We can confirm that the Bear & Ragged Staff in Kenilworth has now closed.

"Making the decision to close a pub is never an easy one, and we are grateful to everyone who has supported the Bear & Ragged Staff over the years."

The future of the building remains unclear.

In 2024 the town centre inn was granted planning permission for a major makeover and for a new beer garden.

The works never took place.

Signs on the windows of the Bear & Ragged Staff say "these premises are protected by live-in guards".
