A Kenilworth theatre has launched a dedicated online archive, charting nearly a century of stage productions in the town.

Alongside its new-look website, the Priory Theatre has created a new history section with information of 91 years of performing in Kenilworth.

This has involved digitalising much of its archives - a process which is still underway, with thousands of photos yet to be added.

The Rosemary Hill venue is also appealing to local residents to share their memories and photos of productions at the Priory.

Marketing manager Ben Sidaway told Nub News: "A key part of the website redesign was to be able to show off our history and enormous archive of productions over the last 91 years of performing in Kenilworth.

"We've made a good dent in digitalising our archive so far, but with literally thousands of photos of hundreds of productions stored in dozens of albums, it's no mean feat to achieve!

"Crucially however, we know that lots of people who've been involved in the theatre in the past will have photos and memories of their own and we'd love to include them too."

The archive section includes a list of almost every production to be staged by the Priory since 13 January 1932, when the Kenilworth Players (the theatre's original title) performed at the old Abbey Hotel Ballroom.

It then charts the history of the group through the Second World War, renovations and name changes right up until today.

"We're delighted to be launching our new website, designed to reflect the theatre's new look and feel since our recent refurbishment works," Ben added.

"Along with a fresh new look, the site has been specifically designed to make it more accessible for both our more modern audiences using mobile devices and also those who may find technology and more complex sites hard to use."
