The Kenilworth Show will not be held in 2024, organisers have today (August 30) confirmed.
In an open letter to locals, the directors of the show said they have "with great sadness" decided not to host next year's event having been "unable to secure the same site" they have used for the past two years.
Despite having hailed the 2023 event a "great success", the Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS) will instead host a number of smaller events throughout the year.
KADAS said it is committed to finding a new venue in time for 2025.
The show - which has been running since 1947 - was forced to move to a new site two years ago after its previous location was taken over by HS2 works.
"The society has been a little quiet on releasing details for the 2024 Kenilworth Show as unfortunately, we have been unable to secure the same site that we have held the show on for the past two years (having had to move from our original show site which now stands pillaged by HS2)," the letter said.
"This has meant that we have needed to attempt to find a location to hold the Kenilworth Show going forward.
"Our show director has been tirelessly searching to find a suitable location.
"As I am sure you will appreciate, given the ever-growing size of the Kenilworth Show, it is not as simple as finding a grass field and dropping the show in.
"There are other factors that need to be taken into consideration, such as road access, number of access ways to the site and a location that strategically both can hold the show in an appropriate layout and that will continue to harness the success of the show.
"A further limiting factor is that the Kenilworth & District farming area is ever shrinking given the borders of Kenilworth, Coventry, Warwick and Leamington Spa converging.
"It therefore comes with great sadness, that the Society, as a whole, has concluded that we will not be able to hold a Kenilworth Show in 2024."
Details of the smaller events will be announced in due course.
Thousands of visitors flocked to this year's show which saw an RAF Hurricane flypast, more than 130 trade stands, a freestyle motocross performance and classic countryside events with horses, dogs, and the farming community all in starring roles.
A large section of the showground was dedicated to Len Eadon, the 22-year-old Warwickshire farmer who took his own life on New Year's Day in 2022. Len's Village allowed the public to find out more about mental health support in agriculture, catch-up with others in the community, and take part in a range of competitions.
