Kenilworth Rotary Club to close this June after 70 years
By James Smith 25th Mar 2026
The Rotary Club of Kenilworth is announcing "with profound sadness" that it will close this year after almost 70 years.
The group will wind up its charitable activities in June.
For almost 70 years, Kenilworth Rotary has supported local organisations with funds raised largely through the Two Castles Run and, more recently, the Kenilworth Advent Calendar, raising several hundred thousand pounds over that time.
The club has also been recognised for its charitable activities overseas, with a particular focus on polio eradication and child education.
In recent years, however, the group has been "unable to attract sufficient new members", resulting in an "ageing and diminishing membership".
"This has compelled us to hand over our major income-generating projects to local organisations to ensure their continued success for the benefit of the community," the Rotary group said.
"The Two Castles Run has been successfully taken over by Kenilworth Runners, while the Kenilworth Soroptimists have agreed to take on the Kenilworth Advent Calendar.
"We are confident that, under their new management, these two events will continue to support local charities increasingly."
"The Kenilworth Rotary Club will close in June 2027.
