Following the success of last year's event, a Kenilworth Residents Picnic has been confirmed for Kenilworth Castle this July.

The event was first hosted by Kenilworth Town Council to make the 450th anniversary of Elizabeth I's visit to the town.

And now it is set to return for a second time on Saturday 11 July.

Again organised by the town council, the event will run between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.

"Bring your picnic and the family for a fun filled event including a children's balloon modeller and face painting," the council said.

"For the adults...prepare to be serenaded by three fantastic local folk musicians headed up by Hamish Foxley...setting the vibe and maybe a bit of Ceilidh dancing as the night progresses!"

The event is free to attend for Kenilworth castle residents pass holders and English Heritage members in the town.

The council continued: "If you would like to bring family members who do not have a pass, there will be an entry fee charged by the Castle of £5 per person. "
