Kenilworth pub to celebrate 10th anniversary with special tasting menu

A Michelin Star pub in Kenilworth has devised a special anniversary tasting menu as it gets ready to celebrate a decade in business this September.

The Cross is planning to celebrate the past, present and future next month with the seven-course meal which will feature dishes from the past 10 years.

Available from Friday, September 1 until Saturday, September 30, the menu will include reimagined classics such as 'Tartar of Veal, Pickled Mushrooms, Radish Salad, Finger Lime, Potato Crisp' and 'Fillet of Cod, White Beans, Pepper Fondue, Chorizo and Parsley'.

Chef owner Andreas Antona opened the New Street eatery in 2013, some 20 years after opening his first restauran - Simpsons in Egbaston. Both now hold Michelin Stars.

Described by The Times as "the godfather of modern Birmingham food" he also launched Antona at Home, a nationwide meal and food delivery service, in 2021.

The September celebration menu has been designed by head chef Adam Bennett who has worked at The Cross since it opened.

As well as the exclusive menu, the venue will also be hosting a one-off anniversary 10-course dinner with former sous chef Kristian Curtis on Thursday 14 September.

"Since opening our doors in 2013, we've loved every moment in the beautiful town of Kenilworth," a statement from The Cross said.

"From winning our Michelin star within a year to receiving The Good Food Award Gold Seal, it wouldn't have been possible without the tireless dedication of chef director Adam Bennett and the passion of our whole team.

"To celebrate a decade at The Cross, Adam has devised a special anniversary tasting menu featuring dishes from the last 10 years, which will be available from Friday 1 to Saturday 30 September."

The Cross was this year also named as one of the top 100 gastropubs in the Estrella Damm awards. It has held a Michelin Star since 2014.

The tasting menu is priced at £105 per person with the wine flight an extra £80.
