A Kenilworth pub has been given the green light to keep its outside seating for another two years.

The Abbey Field has seen its application to Warwick District Council (WDC) for a new pavement licence approved.

The High Street eatery already had seating for up to 14 people to the front of the premises, but needed permission from the local authority to keep them there as its current licence was close to running out.

Plans, submitted earlier this month, show the tables will be permitted for use from 11am to 11pm seven days per week outside the Chef & Brewer establishment.

The four tables will take up just 2.5 metres of the pavement, leaving almost double that for pedestrians to walk past.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.
