Kenilworth planning this week: WDC refuse to comment on bar, new house at care home and stables in Green Belt
Below are the key planning applications in Kenilworth recently received or decided on by Warwick District Council.
Objection to new stables
Kenilworth Town Council's planning committee has objected to two new stables at Hammonds Barn, Purlieu Lane.
Councillors said the development was inappropriate in the Green Belt and there were "no special circumstances for it to be approved".
"This is a significant development on a historic site in a sensitive position. It would have a detrimental impact on the openness of this green belt location."
District council refuses to wade in on planning row
Warwick District Council has refused to comment on whether an events bar is breaking planning rules.
The council said it was in talks with the owner of the Garden Bar at the Pavilion, but it could not discuss an ongoing matter.
Big extension gets the go ahead
A two story extension for a house on Warwick Road has been approved by the district council
New house at care home
Kenilworth Manor Nursing Home has submitted an application to build a house on its site on Thickthorn Orchards.
The development will also see a dementia garden built.
