Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Primary School Problems

Delays continue to hit an already behind schedule project to expand a Kenilworth primary school.

Works on the £6 million redevelopment at St John's Primary School and Nursery are yet to begin with Warwickshire County Council (WCC) still waiting to submit a new planning application for the works.

Due to be finished last year, the project will eventually allow 200 extra spaces at St John's which would become two-form entry.

Pub's Planning Pursuit

A village pub is set to fight the council's decision to deny permission for works on its outdoor area.

The Three Horseshoes on Spring Hill, Bubbenhall, asked Warwick District Council to approve two gazebos that have already been built, plus a planned patio extension and disability ramp, but the application was rejected after a heated council meeting.

Publican Ashleigh Spence had the backing of 70 supportive comments and Bubbenhall Parish Council but saw her application rejected by councillors.

Dalehouse Disruption

Details for the long-awaited 14-month closure of Dalehouse Lane have been confirmed.

The busy road is due to shut for HS2 works this spring.

HS2 has confirmed it will close from Tuesday 7 April 2026 until Monday 7 June 2027.
