Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.
HS2 Bridge
HS2 has been given the green light for a new bridge to carry the realigned Stoneleigh Road over the new rail line.
Warwick District Council has given the go-ahead for the designs to the new bridge which will also carry the W171 footpath.
Plans show the carriageway will have a greenway on either side.
Aldi's Future
Kenilworth Road is still the best location for a new Aldi store in Balsall Common, a new report into the planning application has claimed.
The discount retailer is still waiting for Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to make a decision on its application for the new supermarket, having first put forward the plans in December 2021.
While a decision is expected later this year, Aldi has submitted an updated assessment of the retail scene in Balsall Common.
Leek Wootton Homes
Over 100 objections have been submitted to detailed plans for 70 new homes in Leek Wootton.
Having already won its planning appeal to develop around Warwickshire Police's headquarters, developer Cala Homes has now put forward a reserved matters application for the site.
If approved, the estate off Woodcote Lane would see a mix of one to five-bed homes built, 40 per cent of which will be affordable.
And while the latest application for the village is for fewer homes than initially approved, it has drawn a wave of objections from local councillors and residents.
