Here are the biggest local planning stories from the past week.

Estate Objections

Objections have flooded in to an application for 180 new Kenilworth homes.

Town councillors had already objected and said the town is "straining at the seams" after considering the application from Richborough Estates for Rouncil Lane.

And now over 80 objections from members of the public have been put forward, raising a range of concerns.

Industrial Park

The long-running planning saga over proposals for six new industrial units in Kenilworth has taken a small step forward.

A planning application for six industrial units was put forward by Barwood Development Securities Ltd's for the land at Thickthorn in 2024.

The scheme was then updated last year after concerns the designs did not follow the Land East of Kenilworth Development Brief or the Kenilworth Neighbourhood Plan - both of which were designed to control how the town is developed.

New Allotments

Plans for new allotments at a Kenilworth housing estate have received support from the organisation which runs the town's existing plots.

Vistry Group has put forward plans for the facilities at its new housing estate off Glasshouse Lane.

The allotments will form part of the 620 homes which were given planning permission in 2022.

An application to Warwick District Council says there will be "high-quality space for allotments" over two parcels of land.
