Kenilworth's branch of Iceland is set to close this year, the business has confirmed.

The discount supermarket chain said the shop will shut in September.

Iceland has not confirmed a reason for the closure.

Nub News understands staff were informed of the decision last week.

The company said it is working to offer team members alternative positions elsewhere.

The nearest Iceland stores outside the town are at Cannon Park and in Leamington Spa.

"We can confirm that our Kenilworth store is due to close on 5 September," an Iceland spokesperson told Nub News.

"We are currently in discussion with staff regarding suitable opportunities to relocate to alternative stores, wherever possible."
