Kenilworth fire crews called to tackle blaze in grade II listed pub in Alcester

Fire crews from Kenilworth Fire Station have been called out to deal with a pub fire in Alcester today (April 17).

At around 4.30pm this afternoon Kenilworth Fire Station's water carrier was mobilised to High Street in Alcester where the grade II listed Three Tuns pub was ablaze.

Six crews from Warwickshire, Hereford and Worcester were in attendance to extinguish the fire which had been raging since before 3.00pm.

Kenilworth crew assisted with water supply's to the fire ground due to low water pressure in the area whilst Sheldon Fire Station set up its High Volume Pump into a nearby river to provide a large volume of water to the fire ground.

Crews will be in attendance overnight ensuring the fire is fully extinguished. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

The pub had not reopened after lockdown and no injuries have been reported.
