A Kenilworth eatery has closed for a refurbishment 18 months after it first opened.

Laurent on Warwick Road invited guests in for the first time in September 2024, offering a range of sushi and pan-Asian cuisine.

However, a notice in the venue's window has confirmed the temporary closure.

It said: "Laurent restaurant will be closed until further notice.

"We are deeply sorry to all our lovely customers.

"We are having a small refurbishment and working some things out so we can be back better than ever and give you the dining experience we are aiming for.

"Keep an eye on our social media accounts for a re-opening announcement.

"Thank you and see you soon."

Laurent was opened by Jay Ali, his brother Alum and father Rois, bringing a "Kensington, high end vibe" to Warwickshire.

The family are known locally for having run the Rupali in Tile Hill for many years, as well as a number of other successful restaurants across Coventry.
