Infection rates in Leek Wootton are more than double the national average

Covid-19 cases in and around Kenilworth continue to rise, with cases in Leek Wootton more than twice the national average.

In Warwick district cases have risen sharply in the last seven days from 311.2 to 458.2 per 100,000.

In Kenilworth infection rates also continue to increase.

Official government data shows the rolling seven-day case rate in the week before September 30 were:

- Kenilworth West: 468.2 per 100,000

- Kenilworth South: 576.6 per 100,000

- Kenilworth East: 437.9 per 100,000

Whilst the infection rate in Kingswood and Leek Wootton currently sits at 903.3, over double the national average of 348.4.

All three areas have risen significantly since the middle of September. In particular the infection rate for Kenilworth South has more than doubled from 253.1 between September 16 and September 30

Government data also shows that across the three Kenilworth areas 80 per cent of over 16 year olds have been double vaccinated.
