A Kenilworth coffee shop has been voted as the best in Warwickshire and the West Midlands in an awards scheme which celebrates local independents.

Coffee on the Corner snatched the 'Best Café' prize in the Muddy Awards 2024, which were announced yesterday (May 2).

The Warwick Road venue - which has now won the prize twice - was one of six local businesses to be nominated across various categories.

None of the other local businesses topped their categories, with Coffee on the Corner also edging out neighbour Forrest Coffee House for the Best Cafe prize.

Following the announcement, the Coffee on the Corner team said: "We won! we are over the moon to have been awarded 'Best Café in Warwickshire & West Midlands' in the Muddy Awards for the second time!

"As a family run independent we are so proud of this award particularly having been in the running alongside four other amazing competitors.

"We really owe so much credit to our wonderful hardworking COTC team and of course a huge thank you to our customers and everyone who took time to vote for us!"

Organised for the 11th time by online guide Muddy Stilettos Warwickshire and West Midlands, the awards shortlisted five local businesses in each of 21 different categories.

Categories covered best beauty salon to best children's business, and all the finalists and then winners were voted for by the public.

Coffee on the Corner will now be entered into the national competition to see which is the best café in the country.

The full list of winners can be found here.
