A Kenilworth coaching company has been nominated for a national award.

DF Sports Coaching as been shortlisted for a UK Small Business Award which celebrates the achievements of entrepreneurs and companies across the country.

The Kenilworth-based firm was first launched by Danny Fagan in 2015 as he saw a gap in the local market to provide dedicated sessions for young children in Kenilworth. 

Starting out with one-to-one coaching, DF now brings hundreds of youngsters to the new Kenilworth School site every Saturday morning, provides teams to football clubs across the area and runs incredibly popular holiday camps throughout the year. 

DF Sports Coaching has been named as a finalist for the Best Community Contribution Award, in recognition of the football community that has been created in Kenilworth over the last decade.

Following the nomination, Danny said: "I started DF Sports to bring football to Kenilworth, and to keep it here, creating opportunities for children and parents to enjoy the game together and be part of a thriving new community.

Winners will be announced at a black tie event at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham in December.

Hosted by former Apprentice winner Sian Gabbidon, the night will bring together small businesses from across the UK.
