A Kenilworth restaurant has asked for permission to keep its outside seating for another two years.

Ego Mediterranean has applied for a new pavement licence from Warwick District Council (WDC) to keep its outdoor seating area at its premises at The Square.

Earlier this year WDC signed off on permission for the chain to keep its four tables and eight chairs for another year.

But now the restaurant wants permission to keep the furniture for another 24 months.

If approved, the licence would allow the tables and chairs to be used from 12noon to 11pm, seven days per week.

The application said the chairs will still leave two metres of pavement for pedestrians, with the tables set to sit in line with the restaurant's bay windows.

New laws on pavement licences were brought into effect in the summer of 2020 to make it easier for businesses to apply for permission to put furniture outside during the pandemic.
