theKenilworthCentre is "delighted to announce" that "essential" roof works have now been successfully completed, ensuring the building "remains safe, dry, and welcoming for all who use it".

This project was made possible through the "extraordinary support of our community" the centre said and came after a lightening strike last year.

The town centre facility has extended "heartfelt thanks" to county councillors Richard Dickson, Tracey Drew, and Mark Stevens, as well as the "generous private donors" who contributed via the JustGiving page and directly.

Local businesses also stepped up, and the Kenilworth Centre said it is especially grateful for the sponsorship and expertise provided by Tess Roofing, Birmingham.

"When we started working at the Kenilworth Centre, we could immediately see the great work that goes on inside and outside this building, this inspired us to offer a sponsorship to the centre to show our support and reduce the cost of these extensive repairs, we are really please that our work contributed to securing the future of the site," said Richard or Tess Roofing.

Cllr Dickson added: "theKenilworthCentre is a vital part of community in our town, so it's been a privilege to do what I could, directly and indirectly, to help.

"It was typical of Kenilworth people and community groups to rally round and support."

The repairs followed a lightning strike in July 2025 that damaged solar panels and electrical systems, creating an urgent need to address longstanding roof issues.

With scaffolding already in place for insurance-covered repairs, the centre seized the opportunity to fix persistent leaks and replace faulty fixings - work that was "critical to preserving the building's integrity".

The tKC building is owned by WCC, however the lease provided to the charity by the council puts all maintenance and repairs to the entire building on the shoulders of the charity.

Thanks to combined efforts, fundraising initiatives, and community spirit, the centre raised the necessary funds to complete the project without delay.

"This success demonstrates the power of community and collaboration and the value of theKenilworthCentre as a community hub that provides services and safe spaces for young and old and everyone in between," the centre added.

"We are proud to continue serving Kenilworth and surrounding areas, and we invite everyone to stay connected with us for future events and initiatives."
